Daphne Bellamy Linville, age 90, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her home. She was a native of Scott County, Virginia and a daughter of the late William Henry and Eliza Spivey Bellamy. Daphne retired as an manager of Sunnycrest Apartments, Erwin. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. In addition to her being active in her church, Daphne was very active in various community organizations including: Erwin’s Get Acquainted Club, Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Ladies’ Auxillary, Southern Pottery Club, Unicoi County’s Heritage Museum, Red Hat Society, Honor Flight, and various church activities. She was well known for her beautiful hat collection from which she had much enjoyment in collecting and sharing. In addition to her parents, Daphne was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Linville on December 4, 1997, by her siblings: Zella Manier, Mildred Bellamy, Geraldine Gray, Minnie Pendleton, Vilas Sykes, Walter Bellamy, Fannie Davidson, Dorothy Ketron, Herbert Bellamy, Carl Bellamy, Cecil Bellamy and Lakie Peters; By 2 step-sons: Joseph Linville and Dennis Linville; by sisters-in-law: Lucille Piercy and Betty Black and by brothers-in-law: Robert Linville, James Linville and H.C. Linville.Daphne Linville has left behind to cherish her memory: Several nieces and nephews including niece: Cathy Riddle Step daughter: Linda Meil, Westminister, MD Sisters-In-Law: Margaret Ann Yeager and husband Don, Knoxville Marie Ramsey and husband Jerry, Unicoi Eula Mae Tipton, Unicoi Kaye McInturff, Unicoi Ruth Linville, Unicoi Pauline Linville, Unicoi Several Grandchildren and several great grandchildren A group of very special friends from the various organizations of which she was involved, including: Dick and Anne Frazier (affectionately know as her son and daughter), Rosemary Ramussen, Eva DeWolf and Martha Erwin.A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Valley Funeral Home The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Daphne Linville in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 20 , 2014 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 203 N. Elm Street, Erwin. Rev. Kim Isley will officiate. A graveside committal service will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
