Frankie "Nana" Mellon

Frankie “Nana” Mellon, age 83, of Flag Pond, TN, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014, Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. Frankie was a native of Yancey County, NC and a daughter of the late William Solomon and Estie Mae Fox Edwards. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and Frankie loved canning and quilting. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Great-Granddaughter: Samantha Lee Briggs.Frankie has left behind to cherish her memories. Daughters: Elaine Briggs and husband Phillip Eula Mae Blankenship Sisters: Eva Rhinehart, Jackie Ricker, and Billie Marie Harris Grandchildren: Jody Lee Briggs Jason Anthony Briggs Arthur Scott Blankenship and Heather Mistie Renee Blankenship Lloyd and husband Josh Several Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Blankenship Family Cemetery on Rice Creek Road, Flag Pond, TN. Those who plan to attend please meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30, to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will Jody Briggs, Jason Briggs, Kenny Blankenship, Jakob Blankenship, Josh Lloyd and Scottie Blankenship.
