Jerry Shell

Jerry "Jelly Belly" Shell, 69, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at NHC of Johnson City. Born on April 22, 1945 in Erwin, Mr. Shell was a son of the late Paul and Roxy Lloyd Shell. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He attended Redeeming Grace Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Jerry Shell is preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Shell, sons Jerry Lynn and Brian Lee Shell, Granddaughter Morgan Carver, Sister Bessie Stancel and brother Wayne Shell.Jerry Shell has left behind to cherish his memory: Wife: Vanda Shell, Son: Bobby Shell, Step Son: Daniel Carver and wife Nicole, Step Daughters: Brenda Diane Edwards and husband Tim, Rebecca M. Ruskowski, Grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, William, Veronica and Dyllan Shell, Easton and Amber Edwards, Gabrial, Wyatt and Skyra Carver, Brionna Millsap, Desiree, Dominick and Damien Gibbs, Great Grandchildren: Jackson Levi, Aria and Audrey Shell, Brothers: Frank Shell and wife Helen, Darrell Shell and wife Ruby, Dennis Shell, Mother-in-law: Geneva Miller Sisters-in-law: Rose Clark, Elwanda Shell, Kay Shelton, Kathy Roberts and husband Jimmy, Crystal Arrington, Brother-in-law: Derick Miller.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Jerry Shell in a funeral service to be held at 8:00PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Charley Byrd and Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00PM and continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery.
