June 27, 1950 - May 27, 2020

Click to view part 1 of Arnold's service Click to view part 2 of Arnold's service Arnold Rodney Banner, age 69, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home. A native of Erwin, Arnold is a son of the late Orville Columbus and Ida Jane (Hensley) Banner. He was a lifelong member of Lily Dale Christian Church, where he, at one time, served as Deacon. Arnold was a proud veteran of the United States Army as well as an Electrician at Eastman Chemical Company. He served as Master of the Jaycees and is a Mason. Arnold loved working outside. He was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed being outside operating his equipment. In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his brothers: Gene Banner, Guy Banner, Eddie Banner, Ray Banner, Niles Banner, Ferrell Banner and Larry Banner and sisters: Pauline McNabb and Love Fender. Arnold Rodney Banner leaves behind to cherish his memory: Loving wife of 48 years: Sylvia Mae (Peterson) Banner; Sons: Eric Banner and wife, Marina, Aaron Banner and wife, Jessica; Grandchildren: Isaac, Justin, Kara, Sophia, Daniel, Connor and Kaylee; Great-grandchildren: Mike, Lily and David; Brother: Gerald Banner; Sisters-in-law: Frankie Banner, Charlotte Banner, Elaine Banner. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Arnold Rodney Banner in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Elder Rick Hyder and Minister Jeremy Green will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 4:00 pm and will continue until service time on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 1, 2020 in the mausoleum at Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30 am on Monday, to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be notified. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lily Dale Christian Church, Building Fund, C/O Jeremy Green, 1151 Martins Creek Road, Erwin, TN 37650.
