Barbara J. Huskins, age 87, of Erwin passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Center on Aging and Health. Born on December 3, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Rosie and Isham Wilson. Barbara was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church where she formerly taught Sunday School. She was also active with the Upper East Tennessee P. O. W. chapter. Barbara loved quilting, sewing, cooking, and crochet. She especially loved being "Granny". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Herman Huskins; a son, James Robert Huskins; a sister Ida Sue Huskins; and brothers, Ed and Sherman Wilson.Barbara J. Huskins leaves behind to cherish her memory: Son: Jeff Huskins of Erwin; Daughter-in-law: Donna Lemmon Huskins of Bristol, TN Grandchildren: Heather Huskins of Charlotte, NC; Hanna Huskins-Shields and husband Chris of Columbia, SC Austin Huskins of Erwin; Sister: Nancy Wilson of Erwin; Sister-in-law: Bea Harris of Erwin; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special close relative: Debbie Bailey.The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of the Center on Aging and Health.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Barbara J. Huskins in a graveside committal service to be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Johnson City with Reverend Garland James and Reverend Laura Tracey officiating. Jeff and Family....my deepest condolences in Barbara's passing. I have very fond and lasting memories of your mom and how sweet and supportive she always was as we were growing up. As well, she was a great friend to my mom for many years as they grew into their "golden" years together. Take comfort in the fact she is reunited with many loved ones and is very happy.
