Billie Jo Pate, age 63, of Plant City, FL., passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, at her residence. Billie was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of Ford Pate and the late Georgia White Pate. She was employed by Linda’s Little People Daycare in Florida. Billie attended Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dover, FL.In addition to her father; Billie has left behind to cherish her memories: Sister: Betty Corriveau and husband Robert of Unicoi; Niece: Robbie Bish-Warner and husband Josh of Charlton, MA; Great Nephews: Jayden, Tanner, Cason, Max; Several CousinsThe family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Billie Jo Pate in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 18, 2016, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time on Thursday, at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 19, 2016, at Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. My favorite memory we shared would have to be the bear. We were exploring together (my mom, Billie, and Ford) with the dogs in tow up behind the house. The dogs wandered off a little ways and began to bark and growl. Well, upon a closer look it was a bear. My mom and Ford called for the dogs to back off and yelled for Billie to get me back to the house to safety. She grabbed my arm to balance me on the incline for going down. Well, for the last 20 years she has always referenced that day as the day I drug her down the mountain faster than she could go, even though she was my help! Then we'd laugh about who was taking care of who. We often compared things with that day. It was our adventure, even though we shared many more as I grew up from traveling to see dinosaurs, parades, fundraisers, working together, her teaching all of my children, and more.......... "The Bear" was by far our most cherished not because of the few minutes it took to get to safety, but because it founded our love through the years. We never established who was saving who that day but one thing is true I'll always love you.

When we were younger, Billie, Betty and I spent time together talking and laughing together. Billie was always so much fun. As we got older we lost touch with each other, even though at times memories would cross my mind. My thoughts are with you Betty and Ford, Billie will be missed by many.

I was a friend of Billie Jo's from Milligan. We had stayed in touch off and on thru the years since then. I was heartbroken to hear she had passed. She was such a sweet, humble person who treated all she met with kindness and consideration. We will mourn her here, but heaven is rejoicing to have another angel. Rest in peace, my friend. I love you. I pray for God to comfort her sister Betty, Robbie, and her nephews.
