Brenda Jo McCurry

Brenda Jo McCurry, 60, of Erwin, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. McCurry was a native of Jessup, MD and a daughter of the late Oliver and Hazel Lewis McMahan. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Brenda loved nursing retiring as an LPN in 2015 from Mountain States Health Alliance. Brenda was a member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church where she helped with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a yard sale fanatic in that she loved to attend yard sales and have yard sales. In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Garland and sisters, Betty Jean Adkins and Linda Peterson.Brenda Jo McCurry has left behind to cherish her memories: Husband of 30 years: Anthony “Craig” McCurry of Erwin; Son: Anthony Lance McCurry of Erwin; Daughter: Jodi Fanning McLaughlin of Erwin; Grandchildren: Carrie McLaughlin, Autumn McLaughlin, Kinidy McLaughlin, Maci McCurry, and Liam McCurry; Brothers: Richard Garland, Billie Joe Garland; Sister: Grace Sutterfield; Sisters-in-law: Ann Garland and Mary Jane Garland; Several loved nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Brenda Jo McCurry in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church, 910 Hoback Street, Erwin, TN 37650. Reverend Howard Messer and Reverend Noah Taylor will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and will continue until service time on Saturday at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery.
