Doris Sheehan Cox

Doris Cox, age 73, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Melvin and Molly Hill Sheehan. She was a loving homemaker. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by daughter, Merrill Denise Foster, brothers, Dallas Sheehan, Robert Sheehan, Ned Sheehan, John Sheehan, Monroe Sheehan, and Orville Sheehan, and sisters, Ethel Orwige, Mabel Geagley, and Virginia Sheehan.Doris Cox has left behind to cherish her memory: Husband: Russell Cox; Son: Nathaniel Scott Foster; Brothers: MacArthur Sheehan and wife, Sallie, Melvin Sheehan and wife, Kathey, Wayne Sheehan; Sisters: Ruby Tipton, Hazel Lance, Jane Lewis and husband, Wayne, JoAnn Sheehan; Several Nieces and NephewsThe family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Doris Cox in a funeral service to be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Kathey Sheehan and Reverend Kevin Laws. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until service time on Sunday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Logan Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
