Eddie Wayne Nixon

Eddie Wayne Nixon, age 72, of Bumpass Cove Rd in Erwin, Tennessee died on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 25, 1944 in Edenton, NC, the son of Frances Yates Nixon and John Lafayette Nixon, Sr. Eddie was in the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was one of 13 children and loved his family dearly.He is survived by his significant other, Donnie Love of Erwin, TN; his son, Jason Nixon (Jennifer) of Gastonia, NC; his daughter, Dail Midgette (Doyle) of Wendell, NC; and his stepdaughters, Ginger Love and Chita Williams (Gerald) of Erwin, TN. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Brandon Nixon, Dylan Midgette, and Courtney Stone. Eddie is also survived by his sisters, Linda Terry (Bland) of Edenton, NC and Betty Jones (Mac) of Nashville, NC. Surviving brothers are John Nixon, Jr. (Dina) of New Braunfel, TX; George Nixon (Carol) of Richmond, VA; Ernest Nixon (Sandra) of Jacksonville, FL; Bill Nixon (Dae) of Corapeake, NC; Stanley Nixon (Juanita) of Hertford, NC; David Nixon (Junell) of Warrenton, NC; and Steven Mark Nixon (Susan) of St. Petersburg, FL. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Matthew Nixon, two brothers, Ralph and Jerry Nixon and one sister, Mary Anne Mantooth.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Eddie Wayne Nixon in a visitation to be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Funeral and committal services will be conducted by Miller Funeral Home in Edenton, NC.
