Elva Harris

Elva (Phillips) Harris, age 92, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at NHC Johnson City. A native of Bee Log, NC, Elva is a daughter of the late Roscoe and Mima Phillips. She was a member of Chestoa Baptist Church. Elva was employed by Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department for more than 20 years. In addition to her parents, Elva is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Floyd Harris; three brothers: Jack Phillips, Lloyd Phillips and Guy Phillips; and three sisters: Josie Roberts, Athleen Franklin and Alma Fender.Elva (Phillips) Harris has left behind to cherish her memory: Children: Charles L. Harris and wife, Sandy, Kathy H. McCloud and husband, Michael, and Steven C. Harris and wife, Renee; Grandchildren: Anthony C. Harris and Ashley N. Harris; and brother: Ed Phillips.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Elva (Phillips) Harris in a funeral service to be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Michael McCloud will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 9:00 AM and will continue until service time on Wednesday at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 following the funeral service. Those attending the committal service will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:00 AM on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
