Emily Joyce Robinette, age 88, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2016. She transitioned peacefully with family at her side in Hospice Care at the Johnson City Medical Center.Joyce was born in Dante, Virginia, on December 25, 1927, the second child of six, to John and Inez Wyatt. She grew up in Erwin where she met and married Blaine Robinette who passed in 1986. They raised two daughters and a son.Joyce was a valued member of First Christian Church of Erwin. She was very generous with her time and resources and is remembered especially for her commitment to her church’s mission work, particularly the Agape Mission to Haiti. Of the jobs she held during her lifetime, the one she valued most were her many years of service as the church secretary. Joyce will be remembered by her family and all her friends for her patience and generous, loving spirit in all she did.Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Blaine; her son Randy Robinette of Atlanta; two sisters, June Westall and Janice Riddle of Erwin; and three nephews, Steven Riddle of Erwin and John and Jeffrey Wyatt of San Diego.She is survived by her daughters, Joan Angelopoulos and son-in-law John Angelopoulos of Johnson City and Lynda Sifferd and son-in-law Chuck Sifferd of Erwin; her grandson, George Angelopoulos, his wife Amy, and their daughter Irene; her granddaughter Adrienne Ward, her husband Matt Ward and son Luke; three siblings, Jack and Jim Wyatt, both of Knoxville, and Jennie Young and husband Stan of Elizabethton; and seven nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Joyce Robinette in a funeral service to be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until the service time at Valley on Saturday. A committal service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Mission Fund at First Christian Church, 307 S.
