Gladys Shelton

Gladys Shelton, age 87, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at her home. A native of Flag Pond, Gladys is a daughter of the late Bonnie (Shelton) Hensley. She formerly attended Sweetwater Church of God and was a member of Pathway Freewill Baptist Church, where she played the piano. Gladys was employed by Morrill Motors. She enjoyed music and played the piano and she loved gardening, sewing and crocheting. In addition to her mother, Gladys is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years: William Glenn Shelton; and her step-father: John Hensley.Gladys Shelton leaves behind to cherish her memory: Brothers: Robert Hensley and wife, Jane, of Flag Pond, Lloyd Hensley, of Flag Pond; Sisters: Barbara Dorton and husband, Jack, of Nettie, WV, Judy Bunting, of Flag Pond, Carolyn Barnett and husband, Danny, of Harpers Ferry, WV, Doris Hibbard, of Roseburg, OR; Several nieces and nephews; Special friends: Jean Ledford; Linda Gouge.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Gladys Shelton in a memorial service to be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Pathway Freewill Baptist Church. Reverend Bernie Jones, Reverend Keith Tipton and Reverend Matthew Robinson will officiate. Musical Selections will be provided by the members of Pathway Freewill Baptist Church.
