Hobart Harold Cochran, age 91, Jonesborough, passed away Friday March 1, 2024, at Mountain Home.Harold was born in Des Moines, Iowa and made Jonesborough his home for over 80 years.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Jean Cochran, his parents Hobart and Mary Cochran, in laws Levi D. and Lucille Webber McCoy, sister Marlene Peterson, brother in law Melvin Peterson, nephew Lynn Peterson, and his grandson Andy Cochran (Roger's son).Survivors include his two daughters Sheria Johnson, Theresa (Larry) Fitzgerald and two sons Roger Cochran and Dwayne (Nancy) Cochran. Four grandchildren Bret Johnson, Linsey Parkins, Lauren Hills, and Madison Cochran. Six great grandchildren, his younger brother Kendall (Ruth Etta), and many nieces and nephews.A retired truck driver by trade, Harold enjoyed meeting people and telling stories from his past. One of his favorite stories to share was meeting his wife at church, always sharing how beautiful she was and how he loved the sweater she wore. In recent years he had developed a great love of going to Tennessee Hills to dance and fellowship with his friends. He enjoyed eating out with family, which at times included two little girls Hayden and Ady that he loved to tease. We would like to give a special thanks to everyone at Tennessee Hills Mountain Melodies, Unicoi, TN., Clarence's Drive-In Unicoi, TN., his friend Pearl, and the nurses and doctors at the VA, for always being so good to our Dad.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Hobart Harold Cochran in a graveside service to be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Sam Murray will be officiating the graveside service. I've known Harold for many years. He was a great man. Like a second Daddy to me. Very smart! When we would go out to dinner, he would cut up and make us all laugh. He talked about his love for dancing and meeting new people. I will miss him!
