James Worley Hensley Jr.

April 5, 1934 - December 11, 2020

Junior Hensley, age 86, of Erwin, went home to be with his beloved wife on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Erwin, Junior is a son of the late James Worley and Veril Hensley, Sr. He was a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church and a proud veteran of the United States Army. Junior enjoyed farming, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He loved to walk the Linear Trail and work in his flowers. In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda (Grindstaff) Hensley, and his brother, Carroll Hensley Junior Hensley has left behind to cherish his memory: Children: Pam Strickland and husband, Harmon, Betty Carmack, James Hensley and wife, Debbie, Brenda Henning, Edward Hensley; Grandchildren: Brandy Strickland, Billy Strickland, Ryan Hensley, Tyler Hensley; Great-granddaughter: Lucy Marie Strickland; Brothers: Darrell Hensley and wife, Sandy, Jimmy Hensley and wife, Sammie. The family will attend a private service officiated by Reverend Noah Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Junior’s name to Avalon Hospice, 208 Sunset Drive, Suite 365, Johnson City, TN 37604.
