Jeff D. Peterson

Jeff D. Peterson, age 64, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at The Waters of Johnson City. A native of Erwin, Jeff is the son of Zora Christine (Helton) Peterson and the late Guy Edgar Peterson. He was a member of Hulen Baptist Church, a member of IBEW Local 613 of Atlanta, and a member of the Bees Flees # 110. Jeff loved music, playing the piano, motorcycles and riding through the mountains of East Tennessee. He had his Private Pilot’s License and loved to fly. Throughout the years, Jeff was a member of several Gospel groups including The Volunteers, The Duggers, The Brotherhood, The Hamby’s, The Witnesses, The Crusader’s and finally, 2nd Chance, along with his wife, Nola. He also enjoyed trading things and getting a good deal. Jeff loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and IBEW brothers.In addition to his mother, Jeff D. Peterson leaves behind to cherish his memory: wife of 43 years, Nola Townsend Peterson; daughter, Jaye Peterson; grandchildren, Nathan Edwards and Mollie Edwards; brothers: Michael D. Peterson and wife, Charlene, and Mark Peterson and spouse, Kevin Freeman; brother-in-law, Mark Townsend; nieces: Nicole Townsend and Mindy Johnson and husband, Allen; nephews: Michael Peterson and wife, Kelly and Aaron Peterson and wife, Summer; great nieces: Rilee Peterson and Allie Jo Johnson; great nephews: Connor Peterson and Ryan Johnson. Jeff is also survived by many beloved motorcycle buddies.The family would like to offer special thanks to Sandy McKinney for all of her love and care through this difficult time.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Jeff D. Peterson in a committal service to be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the mausoleum chapel at Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Ferrell Peterson will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Michael Peterson, II and family. Those attending the service should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 12:30 pm on Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Following the committal service, the family will hold a luncheon, visitation and fellowship at Hulen Baptist Church. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Peterson, Michael Peterson, Aaron Peterson, Kevin Freeman, Allen Johnson, Eric Edwards, Nathan Edwards, Eddie Hensley and Tim Wells.
