Jessie L. Tipton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jessie Lee Gilbert Tipton, age 99, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Erwin Healthcare Center. A native of Erwin, Jessie is a daughter of the late Carl Robert and Melba (Tinker) Gilbert. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Lily Dale Christian Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Jessie is preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, George Robert Tipton; sons, Robert Tipton and Donald Tipton; daughter, Zebbie Tipton Brandt; grandsons, Chad Campbell and Keith Banner. Jessie Lee Gilbert Tipton leaves behind to cherish her memory: Sons: George Tipton and wife, Carol, Danny Tipton and wife, Judy, Johnny Tipton and wife, Sue; Daughter: Elaine Banner and husband, Gerald; Son-in-law: Fred Brandt; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff of Erwin Healthcare Center for their loving care during this difficult time. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Jessie Lee Gilbert Tipton in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Ministers Jeremy Green and Ricky Hyder will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will follow the funeral service on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in Martin Creek Cemetery. Those attending the committal service should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 2:00 pm on Saturday to go in procession. Pallbearers will be notified. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jessie’s name to Lily Dale Christian Church, 1151 Martin Creek Road, Erwin, TN 37650.
