Marlene Kay (Bailey) Hughes, age 50, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Holston Valley Regional Medical Center. A native of Flint, MI, Marlene is a daughter of the late Cecil Wesley and Loretta (Nidiffer) Bailey. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and playing with Savannah. Housework was her pride.Marlene Kay (Bailey) Hughes leaves behind to cherish her memory: Husband: William Jeffery Hughes, of Erwin; Sons: Shawn Demaria, of Erwin, Michael Roberts, of Greeneville; Daughter: Savannah Hughes, of Erwin; Grandchildren: Levi Demaria, Mayliah Roberts, Madison Williams, Step grandchildren: Brooklynn, James, Preston, Landon and Hunter; Step children: Tabitha, Jessica, Megan, TJ and Sarah; Eleven step grandchildren; Brothers: Danny and Allen; Sisters: Cathy, Karen and Mary; Several nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Marlene Kay (Bailey) Hughes in a funeral service to be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Mark Silvers will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until the hour of service on Sunday. A committal service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral service. Those attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 2:00 PM to go in procession.
