A native of Unicoi, Mary Helen is a daughter of the late Thomas and Nora (Helton) Miller. She was a member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing. Mary Helen loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mary Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Gouge; grandson, Trent; brothers: Jack Miller, Henry Miller, and Tommy Miller; and sisters: Dorothy Turske, Jessie "Bessie" White, and Peggy Henley.Mary Helen Gouge has left behind to cherish her memory: daughters: Debi Gouge (Chris), Kim Bowman (Joe), Christa Carey (David); grandchildren: Megan Curry, Chris Bowman (Jane) Jessie Leonard Carey and fiancé, Thomas Davis; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby, Ginger, who is 17 years old.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Mary Helen Gouge in a graveside committal service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, in the mausoleum at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Reverend Gary Edwards will officiate. Those attending the committal service should meet at Roselawn Memory Gardens by 12:50 pm. For the service. Serving as active pallbearers will be Chris Holt, David Carey, Joe Bowman, Chris Bowman, Thomas Davis, and Ray White.
