Mary Lee Owens

July 9, 1952 - March 30, 2019

Mary Lee (Ledford) Owens, age 66, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Christian Care Center of Unicoi. A native of Buladean, NC, Mary is a daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Campbell) Ledford. She was a member of Hulen Baptist Church, where she was previously the music leader and loved helping with Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her: brother, R. C. Ledford; son, Richard Owens; and sister, Treva Tinker. Mary Lee (Ledford) Owens leaves behind to cherish her memory: Daughter: Christy Alexander, of Erwin; Sons: Billy Joe McKee and wife, Nicky, United States Marine Corps, San Diego, CA, Dustin McKee and wife Marie, of Hendersonville, NC, Anthony Owens and wife, Brianna, United States Army, Fort Sill, OK, William Owens and fiancé, Susie, of Erwin, Scott Owens, of Erwin; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way; Brothers: Ronnie Ledford and wife Lou Ella, of Jonesborough, Ralph Ledford and wife, Shirley, of Jonesborough; Several nieces and nephews. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence in a Celebration of Life Service to be conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Hulen Baptist Church. Reverend Ferrell Peterson will officiate. A visitation period to offer support and share memories will be held from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday at Hulen Baptist Church. The family will attend a graveside inurnment service following at Bulahdean Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Bulahdean, NC on Saturday.
