Mary Ruthie (Lloyd) Robinette, age 56, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at her home. A native of Asheville, NC, Ruthie is a daughter of Hazel Jean (McIntosh) Lloyd and the late Henderson Presley "HP" Lloyd. She was a member of Lower Higgins Creek Church of God. She enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing and hiking and she loved her flowers. In addition to her father, Ruthie is preceded in death by her brothers, Michael Lloyd and Danny Lloyd; son, Seth Robinette; grandparents, Carl and Viola McIntosh and McKinley and Delia Lloyd; and niece, Victoria Nicole Lloyd.In addition to her mother, Mary Ruthie (Lloyd) Robinette has left behind to cherish her memory: Husband: Troy Zundel; Daughter: Jessica Robinette; Brothers: Billy Lloyd and wife, Donna, Stephen "Pete" Lloyd and wife, Kim; Sister-in-law: Hazel Lee Lloyd; Several nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Mary Ruthie (Lloyd) Robinette in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 11, 2021 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Stephen "Pete" Lloyd will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Gail Shelton and Donna Sue Tipton. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending the committal service should meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 am on Tuesday for the service. Serving as active pallbearers will be Josh Lloyd, Austin Lloyd, Garrett Lloyd, Jake Blankenship, David Garland and Zane Zundel. I’m saddened to hear of your passing, Ruthie. So many memories just came flooding back of all the fun we had many years ago. I remember mom calling you her other daughter for a long time. Hanging out at the house, Friday nights spent going to Clarences to eat then getting into whatever meanness we could. Talking on the phone for hours and texting just within the past few years. You were much too young to be gone so soon. You were a rose among thorns. I’m going to miss you.
