Mary Ruth Vaughn

Mary Ruth Vaughn, age 73, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at her home. A native of Erwin, Mary Ruth is a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Sullins) Grindstaff. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved cooking and spending time with children. In addition to her parents, Mary Ruth is preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Buchanan and Howard William Grindstaff, Jr. and one sister, Billy Jean Harris.Mary Ruth Vaughn has left to cherish her memories: Husband: David Howard Vaughn; Son: Shannon Vaughn and wife, Angie; Sister: Linda Vines; Grandchildren: Shannon Vaughn, Jenna Nettles; Great-grandchild: Presley Nettles; Nieces and nephews: Jeff Padgett, Jimmy Padgett, Macky Padgett, Brian Keller, Michael Keller, Michele Flemming, Hollie Tipton, Kristy Gibson, Billy Buchnan, Barbie Buchanan; Special great-nieces: Summer Peterson, Skyler Grindstaff; Aunt: Verna Alford; Brother-in-law: Ralph Vaughn.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute to the life of Mary Ruth Vaughn in a funeral service to be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Pastor Carl Connely will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 16, 2020 and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home; and at other times at the home of Shannon and Angie Vaughn, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Erwin, TN 37650. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending should meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 am for the service.
