Park Arrowood, age 93, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home. Mr. Arrowood was a native of Bakersville, NC and a son of the late Quinter and Mae Peterson Arrowood. Park served in the United States Army during World War II. While serving he was awarded a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was an inspector with Hoover Ball and was a Mason. Park was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Erwin. In addition to his parents Mr. Arrowood was preceded in death by his wife and mother to his children, Mabel Foster Arrowood, wife Mary Ruth Arrowood, son Randy Arrowood and by a daughter, Betty Chandler. Park Arrowood has left behind to cherish his memory: Sons: Kevin Arrowood of Savannah, GA, Harley Arrowood of Grand Blanc, MI; Grandsons: Jason Chandler of Erwin, TN, Travis Chandler of Erwin, TN, Randy Arrowood of Erwin, TN, Steven Arrowood of French Camp, MS, Jeff Arrowood of Grand Blanc, MI, Greg Arrowood of Grand Blanc, MI, Nicholas Arrowood of Savannah, GA; Several Great GrandchildrenA visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Valley Funeral Home. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Park Arrowood in a funeral service to be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 8, 2014 in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Earl Ragland will officiate. A graveside committal service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
