Richard D. McKinney, age 65, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Tennessee, Richard is a son of the late Robert F. and Mathilde J. McKinney. He was of the Baptist faith and was an Engineer for CSX Transportation until his retirement. Richard was an avid car enthusiast and loved spending time with his family and friends. Richard D. McKinney has left behind to cherish his memory: Wife of more than 42 years: Karen McKinney; daughter: Amy McKinney Reis and husband, Scott; son Chad McKinney and wife, Amanda; grandchildren: Mallorie Reis, Eli Reis and Carter McKinney; and brother: David McKinney. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Richard D. McKinney in a committal service to be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Washington County Memory Gardens. Bishop John Edwards will officiate. Those who wish to attend the service should meet at Washington County Memory Gardens by 10:50 am on Tuesday for the service.
