Seaphus A. Hensley

Seaphus A. Hensley, age 76, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his home. A native of Erwin, Seaphus is a son of the late Luther and Macie (Landers) Hensley. He was a member of Sweetwater Church of God and was a Stone Mason by trade. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his friends. In addition to his parents, Seaphus is preceded in death by his sons: Freeman Harris and Roger Harris; grandchildren: TJ Shelton and Jacob Sawyer; sisters: Annabelle Baldwin and Glenna Tipton; and brothers: Gerald Hensley and James Hensley.Seaphus A. Hensley has left behind to cherish his memory: wife, Janice (Shelton) Hensley; children: Barbie Sawyer (David), JoAnn Shelton (Scotty), Rose Shelton, Lou Carver; grandchildren: Heathur Wilson, Sheena Harris (Matt), Haley Shelton, Holly Shelton (Jacob); great-grandchildren: Kennedy Sawyer, Kaymin Blackburn, Lillian Shelton; brother, Dallas Hensley (Geneva); sister, Debra Kay Hensley; and numerous special nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Seaphus A. Hensley in a funeral service to be held at 4:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 Sweetwater Church of God. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 3:00 PM and will continue until service time on Wednesday.
