William Harold Ray

William H. Ray, age 90, of Flag Pond, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his residence. He is a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late William S. and Laura McIntosh Ray. Mr. Ray retired from Johnson City Foundry in 1987. He attended Church of God. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by daughter, Darlene Riddle, Sisters Mae Cook, Nettie Kessinger, Brothers Vance Ray, James D. Ray, Rex Ray, and Quinton Ray.William H. Ray has left behind to cherish his memories: Wife of 68 years: Florence Ramsey Ray of Flag Pond; Daughters: Agnes Ramsey and husband, Alfred of Erwin, Joyce Cole and husband, James of Weaverville, NC; Son: Willian Donald Ray of Flag Pond; 7 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and NephewsThe family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of William H. Ray in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery.
