Geneva Lewis Honeycutt, age 82, of Johnson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 16, 2013 at her residence. Born in Poplar, NC on November 6, 1931, she was a daughter of the late W. M. “Jape” and Cora Webb Lewis. She attended Unaka Springs Free Will Baptist Church until she was no longer able to drive and then Higher Ground Baptist Church of Kingsport as long as her health allowed. She retired from Texas Instruments. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carson Honeycutt, brothers, Howard, Conway and Claude Lewis and sisters Bertha Tilley, Pansy Oaks and Tessie Hopson. Geneva has left behind to cherish her memories: Daughter: Donna Gainey of Jonesborough; Son: Darrell Honeycutt of Johnson City; Brothers: Hoy Lewis of Raceland, KY; Boyd Lewis of Johnson City; James Lewis of Jonesborough; Sisters: Cassie Bacon of Crestview, FL; JoAnn Ledford of Jonesborough; 8 Grandchildren 8 Great grandchildren Special Step grandchild: Mindy Harold. The family requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Geneva Lewis Honeycutt in a funeral service to be held on Saturday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Honeycutt officiating. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until service time on Saturday at Valley Funeral Home. Committal services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2013 following the funeral service in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as active Pallbearers.
