Howard M. White, 72, 1801 N. Main Ave., Erwin died Monday, March 6, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Jonathan and Maggie Goforth White. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked as a self-employed logger and truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Story White, in 1994. He was of the Holiness Faith. He leaves behind: Three Daughters: Donna Miller and husband, Roy, Unicoi JoAnn Harris, Erwin Janelle Smith and husband, Kyle, Erwin Two Sons: Howard White, Jr., Erwin Michael J. White and wife Sharon, Erwin One Sister: Loretta Ledford, Johnson City Four Brothers: J.L. White, Jr., Erwin David L. White, Erwin Herman White, Unicoi Ray White, Mount Clemens, Michigan Eleven Grandchildren Five Great Grandchildren The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2006, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Rev. Kim Casey and Rev. Tim Hobbs will officiate. Music will be under the direction of Rev. Kim Casey. The family will receive friends at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until service time. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the Keplinger Cemetery with military graveside honors. Serving as pallbearers will be: Joseph Harrell, Billy Price, Michael White, Andy Harris, Kyle Smith and Kenneth Spencer. Those attending the graveside service will meet at Keplinger Cemetery at 10:50 A.M. on Friday. The family extends a special AThank You@ to the care givers who assisted Mr. White while at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital and Johnson City Medical Center and also to Diane, Anna and Donna at the Johnson City Medical Center.
