Luther Ben "L.B." Bible, 87, 119 Rolling Hills Road, Erwin died Tuesday, July, 18, 2006 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical center. He was a native of Bybee, Tennessee and the son of the late Sam and Frankie Holdway Bible. During World War Two and Korea he served his country in the United States Army. He was a conductor on the Clinchfield Railroad for thirty years. He was a member of the Masons and the Jericho Shrine Temple. He served as the Unicoi county Chairman for the Shriner's Children's Hospital. He was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church where he was the choir President for more than twenty years and also served as the treasurer for the adult department. He is survived by: Wife: Nancy Bible, Erwin Daughter: Lynn Bible Doolittle, Irmo, SC Step-Sons: Mark Vanover, Erwin Kent Vanover, Maryville, TN Grandson: Christopher Lynn Whitaker,Gainesville, VA Step-Grandchildren: Amanda Norris, Morristown Markus Vanover, Maryville Hannah Callahan, Maryville Timothy Callahan, Maryville Great-Grandchildren: Grace Lyn Whitaker Hunter Norris Haley Norris Half- Sister: Marlene Dawson, Charleston, SC Funeral services for Mr. Bible will be conducted at Ninth Street Baptist Church on Friday, July, 21, 2006 at seven o'clock. The Reverend Frank Proffitt will officiate and music will be provided by Teresa Treadway and the Ninth Street Baptist church choir,. The family will receive friends from five until the time of the service at the church and at other times at the residence. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at ten o'clock at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Ninth Street Baptist Church and Honorary Pallbearers will The Masons and the Shriners. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to Ninth Street Baptist Church, 310 Ninth Street, Erwin, TN 37650. Those going to the cemetery are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home at 9:30 to go in procession to the cemetery.
