Myrtle Elizabeth Banks

Myrtle Elizabeth Banks, age 76, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Myrtle was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Frank McKinnley and Lula Jane Sparks Gillis. Myrtle was a seamstress for many years and loved cooking, cook books and to crochet. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, John Banks Son: Johnny Douglas Banks, Jr. of Erwin Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral Service for Myrtle Banks will be held at 7 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Bernie Jones will officiate. Visitation will be at Valley Funeral Home, 6 PM until service time. Committal service will be at 2 PM, Sunday, October 14, at Evergreen Cemetery.
