Trula Jean Cooper

Birth date: May 8, 1935 Death date: Feb 23, 2013

Trula Jean Cooper, age 77, Unicoi, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. Trula was a Unicoi County native, and a daughter of the late Jack and Dora Gouge Campbell. Trula was a member of Buffalo Valley Freewill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. In addition to her parents, Trula is preceded in death by her Husband of 58 years, George E. Cooper in 2010 and a brother, Fred Campbell. She is survived by: Daughters: Jackie Butler and Rick of Unicoi; Connie Pate and Rev. Rick Pate of Johnson City; Granddaughters: Heather Butler Davis and Christopher of Unicoi; Tiffany Butler and her Fiancée, Kevin Briggs of Unicoi; Great Grandchildren: Kaedan Kelly Lee Davis; Kenidee Annalyssa Davis Jaci Payton Briggs; Brother: Vernon Lee Campbell of Unicoi; Sister: Geraldine Privette of Johnson City; Special cousin: Pauline Jones of Johnson City; Beloved Friend: Sidney Hixon of Unicoi; Several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 7:00PM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Cochran and Dr. Robert Allen officiating with Rev. Rick Pate honorably mentioned. Vocal selections will be provided by Heather Davis, Tiffany Butler and Shirley Sutphin. The family will receive friends at Valley Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00PM until service time. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Bell Cemetery in Unicoi. Active pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Rick Butler, Steve Carver, Harvey Carver, Mike Garland and Jimmy Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Briggs, Dale Campbell, Kaedan Davis, Hubert Yarber and Sid Hixon. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
