Virginia Belle Cacy Murphy, 100, of Erwin, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Murfreesboro, TN. Born in Coeburn, VA on December 11, 1912, Virginia was a daughter of the late George Beverly and Virginia Belle Steel Cacy. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Erwin, where she was a part of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Erwin Wednesday Morning Club. She was the loving wife of James E. (Pat) Murphy who preceded her in death in 1992, her parents, a daughter Virginia Belle Murphy King, Sisters Lula Lane, Jessie Webb and Opal Brock, and Brothers Basil, Kyle and Garnett Cacy. She is survived by: Children: Joe Boyd of Abingdon, VA; Jo Ann Murphy Boyd of Murfreesboro, TN; James E. Murphy, Jr of Jonesborough, TN; Judith Margaret Murphy Stevens of Rock Hill, SC; George Clarence Murphy of San Antonio, TX; Sister: Ruth Fink of Johnson City, TN; Grandchildren: Rebecca Boyd Ehmling, James Boyd, Richard Boyd, Prudence Murphy Greene, Sherrie Stevens Parker, Daniel Murphy and Michelle Murphy 12 Great Grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Virginia Belle Cacy Murphy will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Erwin, with Rev. Macil Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday. A graveside committal service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
