Grace Edna Erwin, age 90, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County. A native of Erwin, Grace is a daughter of the late Rudy and Pearl (Rodgers) Taylor. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Ruth Class. She was an employee of Texas Instruments until retirement. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, shopping, socializing with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Grace is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Lewis Erwin; brothers: Jack Taylor, Clint Taylor, Ray Taylor and J. D. Taylor; and sisters: Gladys Ruble and Mildred Sams.Grace Edna Erwin leaves behind to cherish her memory: Sons: Larry Erwin and wife, Jackie, of Erwin, Phillip Erwin and wife, Marsha, of Erwin; Granddaughters: Christy Wyche and Husband, Jim, of Johnson City, Kimberly Moore, of Erwin, Kelly Laco and husband, Joe, of Atlanta, GA; Great-grandsons: Ryan Howard and wife, Erika, of Erwin, Adam Howard and wife, Megan, of Erwin, Jacob Laco, of Atlanta, GA, Kade Moore, of Erwin; Great-granddaughter: Rebecca Laco, of Atlanta GA; Step-great-grandsons: James Wyche, Johnathan Wyche, Jacob Wyche; 4 great-great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews; A host of special friends.The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Health Care and of Christian Care Center of Unicoi County for their loving care during this difficult time.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Grace Edna Erwin in a funeral service to be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A eulogy will be provided by Eddie Manfull. Musical selections will be provided by Karl Gasser. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service conducted by Adam Howard will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend the committal service should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 2:00 pm on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Grace was such a lively person and a joy to be around. Junior has wonderful memories of times spent at your home when you guys (Larry, Phil) were younger. It was with deep regret that I learned of Grace's passing.I spent a lot of time at their home when I was in High School. She and Joe were always nice to me. My condolences to Larry, Phil, and her entire family.Jerry Huskins
