Wilma Howard

Wilma Howard, age 63, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Elizabethton, Wilma is a daughter of the late Willard and Bernice (Allen) Davis. She was an active member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as a Nursery worker and helped with Children's Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to decorate and loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Davis.Wilma Howard leaves behind to cherish her memory: Husband of 24 years: Ward Howard; Children: Kristy Buchanan and husband, Shane, Arron Howard and wife, Brynna; Grandchildren: Kerstin Buchanan, Karson Buchanan; Brothers: Jeff Davis, Kenny Davis and wife, Karin; Sisters: Charlotte Burkett and husband, Walter, Shirley Necessary and husband, James, Other sister: Angie Hensley; Brother-in-law: Henry Howard; Several nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Wilma Howard in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Preacher Arron Howard and Pastor Noah Taylor will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Alexis Taylor and by Teresa Masters. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 2, 2020, in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending should meet at the cemetery by 2:20 pm on Sunday.The family requests that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, Gideon Bibles can be purchased in memory of Wilma.
